2017: the future is female.
I’m trying this new approach to blogging where I keep my political/religious/etc opinions to myself. One thing I need to say is that as much as you hope and pray for steady progression in life, sometimes you come face-to-face with walls– barriers that are meant to hold you still or push you back. As a woman, I see this every single day. Restrictions. Expectations. The world loves showering you with images of what you’re supposed to be. Who you’re supposed to be. How you should act. What’s right and what’s wrong.
The issue with this is that people tend to forget where the line ends between giving helpful advice and overstepping your boundaries. We could all benefit from learning our place. There are no rights or wrongs. Everything in life is just an experience we keep trying to label as “good” or “not good”. It isn’t really that easy though, is it? Everything is as it’s meant to be. Everything that happens to us, whether it’s our idea of fantastic or awful, leads us to the right circumstances.
Life has taught me many lessons. Most importantly, don’t worry too much about what other people think of you. There comes a time when you’ll fit perfectly in your own world, and to reach it all you have to do is care about yourself. Your life is about you. You are the main character, everything else is just surrounding.
Stay at home and cook pies and arrange cheese plates for your significant other if that’s what you want to do. Go bar-hopping and throw back beers and smother yourself in pizza if that’s what you want. Be calm and collected. Be rowdy and wild. Be whatever the fuck you want to be and if you don’t agree with another person’s lifestyle, focus on your own.
The entirety of us is made up of a never-ending discovery of the world and how we fit in it. And we try, god we try. Feel free to contact me if you want to find an outlet for your thoughts. Feel free to contact me if you just need to be surrounded by some boss ass bitches that completely rip apart the roles of a matriarch and a housewife. Man, oh, man. My chicks are the best chicks.
Go on with ya bad self!
